Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts
 
This delicious seasonal dish will satisfy your craving for both sweet and spicy. The Brussels sprouts become nutty and sweet when roasted and the maple cayenne glaze creates a flavour-pairing like no other. With only a handful of ingredients and simple directions, this recipe is perfect for Thanksgiving or any night of the week.

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper (increase to taste)
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Rinse and trim Brussels sprouts then pat to dry.
  3. In a large bowl, toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  4. Transfer the sprouts to rimmed baking sheet and roast for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even browning.
  5. Meanwhile, combine maple syrup and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
  6. After 20 minutes, or when brussels sprouts are browned in spots and tender, drizzle brussels sprouts with maple syrup mixture, stir to coat and roast 1 minute longer.
